Farzaneh Sharafbafi has been named first female CEO of Iranian national flag carrier airline, Iran Air.
CEO of the airline was appointed by Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Ahmad Akhoundi.
For the first time in Iran’s aviation history, a woman, who served as Director of Iran Air’s Research Department, will steer the national airline.
This is nearly unprecedented for Sharafbafi to gain the first female title as she already holds a PhD in Aerospace as the leading Iranian woman.
Sharafbafi has also been involved in many airways projects and taught various aerospace courses at Amir Kabir University of Technology in Iranian capital city of Tehran.
